60 Arrested for DUI During Labor Day Weekend

The Rhode Island Police Chiefs Association announced today that during the Labor Day weekend period (from 12:00 PM on September 4, 2026, until 6:00 AM on September 8, 2026), law enforcement across Rhode Island arrested 60 individuals for Driving Under the Influence (DUI). These figures represent the combined efforts of all 38 municipal police departments and the Rhode Island State Police.

“I am proud of the men and women who were on duty and helped to keep our roads safe this Labor Day weekend,” said Colonel Michael E. Correia, President of the Rhode Island Police Chiefs Association and Chief of Police in Barrington. “Our roads were busy this weekend and with 60 DUI arrests, it is clear that our enforcement efforts are working. I want to thank every law enforcement agency in Rhode Island for their collaboration and continued efforts to protect our communities by removing impaired drivers from our roads.”
